  • France – Operating Limits

    Speed limits in force (usually 5 knots) on inland waters and in harbours. In coastal waters, speed limits (5 knots) and channel restricted navigation where beach traffic scheme exists (within 300 m from coast). Navigation limited to 5 Nm from shelter for motor boats below 5 m Lh and sailing dinghies / open keel boats. For other boats, minimum safety equipment required (see safety equipment area) according to navigation under or above 6 Nm from shelter.

  • Netherlands – Operating Limits

    In general, speed limits of 20 km/h on all water in the Netherlands excluding special zones. But many ocal zones with slower seed are in force. Some waters are only allowed to acces with non combution engines.

  • South Africa – Operating Limits

    There are strict regulations one needs to adhere to if you wish to use a vessel offshore, after dark or for commercial purposes. The guidelines are also in Marine Notice 13 of 2011, available on the SAMSA website

  • Germany – Operating Limits

    Local restrictions in force. Speed limit of 12 km/hr on canals. Restrictions for personal watercraft in force (May 95).

  • Spain – Operating Limits

    Operating limits depending on the license to sail. Speed limits in force (usually 3 knots) on inland waters and in harbours. Speed limits and restricted navigation where beach traffic exists (within 300 m from coast).

  • New Zealand – Operating Limits

    Local and national regulations in force e.g. Speed limit of 5 knots within 200 metres of shore or 50 metres of another vessel, age of 15 years in order to drive a power boat capable of 10 knots+

  • Australia – Operating Limits

    Restrictions apply from State to State. Speed limits depend on locality. Restrictions on PWCs in Sydney Harbour and at some launch ramps around the nation. Designated waterski, horseswimming areas etc

  • Turkey – Operating Limits

    No PWC or pleasure craft is allowed to enter swimming areas,coasts of hotels, holiday villages or similar up to 200 mt.Speed at 200-300 mt from coat is 10 knots. Harbour masters are entitled to set up speed regulations. Bosporus Strait 10 knots, Canakkale Strait 15 knots.
