With a new government in place embracing a more pro-industry, pro-trade agenda than its predecessor, the future of Argentina’s recreational marine industry is finally looking positive after a decade of stagnation. Meanwhile, Uruguay’s rise in tourism and potential for new infrastructure places it on the ‘one to watch’ list. Tasked to assess these blossoming market conditions and investigate potential opportunities, ICOMIA’s Secretary General, Udo Kleinitz, and NMMA’s Senior Export Director, Julie Balzano, led a week-long fact-finding mission to Argentina and Uruguay in March 2018.
