The Association of Estonian Marine Industries joins the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA)
The Association of Estonian Marine Industries, established in 1997, is a non-profit organization based on Estonian island Saaremaa in the Baltic Sea. ICOMIA is pleased to welcome the association as our 37th member.
The Association of Estonian Marine Industries includes companies in the shipbuilding, off-shore and related sectors. Estonian shipbuilding centres around small-series production and one-off projects and 80% of Estonian-made vessels are exported to markets around the globe.
Maria Ruubas said: “The Association stands for the interests of Estonian marine industry in public sector and international organisations, coordinates cooperation, joint marketing and image building projects, contributes to the development of the sector and related study programmes and to the popularisation of the profession. The Association also mediates marine industry information and statistics”
The joining of the Estonian MIA brings ICOMIA’s number of full members up to 37 across 35 countries – the largest number that we have had in our history.
