METS organiser Amsterdam RAI invites government approved marine related public charities to apply for the registration proceeds from the Design Award METS (DAME) competition.
“We are hoping many charities will apply for this year’s fund,” explains METS Domain Manager, Irene Dros. “Next to the money, the charity benefits from international recognition by association with DAME.”
To date, the DAME Award – which is the most respected annual industry reward for innovative leisure marine product design – has raised approximately EU18,000 for worthy causes each year. The annual donation varies according to the number of entries registered. Last year, AMREF, Flying doctors received the donation. AMREF is the designated charity of Amsterdam RAI and therefore receives the DAME donation in even years.
Charities interested in applying will find the terms and conditions, and an application form at metstrade.com/METS 2013. All applications must be received by 26 April and will be assessed by the Exhibition Committee in May. The DAME donation will be announced and presented at the Breakfast Briefing on the morning of 19 November, the official opening day of METS 2013.
