Following his visit to the Sydney International Boat Show, ICOMIA CEO Joe Lynch took the opportunity to visit with our New Zealand MIA NZ Marine and to represent ICOMIA at their one-day conference on 8 August.
The conference included some great presentations covered subjects such as AI and how it can make life and business more efficient for the marine industry as well as how cyber criminals are now targeting marine businesses and how to protect them.
Joe Lynch was joined by ICOMIA President Darren Vaux to present further information on the Propelling Our Future campaign and highlight how this research is fundamental to the industry whilst also opening up some exciting opportunities to those regions with low carbon infrastructure and a great international reputation.
An important discussion at the event revolved around the requirements for continued investment in the training and retention of skilled workers in every facet of the recreational marine industry. New Zealand has a world beating reputation for the quality of it’s training which is provided by MAST Academy, the sister organisation of NZ Marine.
