Digital Transformation as a Catalyst for Sustainability
Building on the extensive work by the ICOMIA Marinas Group in shaping the vision for a smart marina, we recognise the increasing discussion around what can drive marinas to undergo necessary digital transformation. Sustainability, a key driver for progress in the recreational boating industry and a top priority for marinas, may offer some answers.
This session will define the basic terms of digital transformation and explore the connection between marinas becoming smart and their pursuit of sustainability, while also addressing the barriers to this transformation. We will begin by discussing how sustainability can serve as a powerful catalyst for digital transformation in marinas, leading to increased efficiency, optimised resource use, and greater overall effectiveness. The session will then transition to a roundtable discussion with marina managers, focusing on the challenges they face in adopting various smart marina practices.
